The film “Naari” was released on the occasion of Women’s Day (March 7). Addressing a serious topic, the film stars Amani in a pivotal role, while Nithyasree and Karthikeya Dev play important roles. Let’s see how much this film, which was produced by Surya Vantipalli, who is making his debut as a director, impressed the audience.
Story: Bharathi (Amani) takes an unexpected decision with the aim of not letting anyone else go through the same thing as her due to a mistake she made without her knowledge. How did her decision affect the atrocities against women and the men who commit those atrocities? The story of “Naari” is about.
Actors’ performance: Amani has played a variety of roles so far. However, the role of Bharathi in the film “Naari” remains a milestone in her career. Especially in the climax, her performance not only causes a small tremor, but also makes you think.
Nithyasri’s role, although small, has created a good impact. Karthikeya Dev’s screen presence is good. The message elevated by his role is also good. Mounika Reddy did justice to the role with good performance.
Although Vikas Vasishta’s role is a regular villain role, the care he took to make the villainy he cultivated in it fresh is good. However, it would have been better if that character had been explored better. Pragathi, Kedar Shankar, Sunayana, Pramodini and others did justice to their roles.
Technical Performance: The story chosen by director Surya Vantipalli has a strong message. The way in which the message is made memorable in the climax is commendable. He introduced a new angle to the audience in Aamani. Surya, who impressed as a director, could not entertain as a narrator. If the message he wanted to convey & the shock value of the climax had been put into a story that would engage a little, “Naari” would have definitely been a good movie.
Vinod Kumar’s songs are good. Especially the songs sung by RP Patnaik and Sunitha are heartfelt. However.. he failed to elevate the emotions with the background music.
The cinematography work is decent. However.. budget issues are still visible. More care should have been taken in the case of coloring & DI. A better output would have been obtained if he had not hesitated in the case of production design.
Analysis: Every movie discusses the problems of women and the difficulties they face at some point. Very rarely is the solution shown on screen to overcome that problem. The solution shown in “Nari” is definitely needed by the society. The answer given by the character Aamani definitely gives a hard-hitting experience. However.. if more care had been taken in the story and a better quality output had been given, it would have definitely been a good movie.
Punch Line ;A good thought-provoking effort!
