In the village of Bhimunipatnam, cable TV operator Srinu (Harshit Reddy) lives a happy life with his two friends (Gavireddy Srinivas, Charan Peri). However, his three wives Srivalli, Farida, and Gayatri (Shriya Kontham, Sravani Lakshmi, and Shalini Kondepudi) are obsessed with the Telugu television serial Janma Janma Bandham. If anyone interferes with the serial while it is being aired, they will not hesitate to take their lives. The madness of such wives turns the lives of Srinu and his friends upside down. In such adverse circumstances, they turn to Maya Mata (Samantha Ruth Prabhu), a witch in the village, for advice.
What was the difficulty faced by Srinu and his friends from their wives? Did the Telugu serial cause unrest in their lives? What advice did Maya Mata give them when they turned to her? How did Maya Mata’s advice help them? What was the shock given to Srinu’s team by Dish Kumar in the village? How did these three overcome that shock? Did Srinu and his friends find a solution to the difficulty that deprived the villagers of peace of mind? The story of the movie Shubham is the answer to these questions in a comedic and fun way.
The story of the movie Shubham, which Samantha turned producer, is not something new. It is not even a movie that amazes with great technology. This small funny incident that happens every day in middle-class and lower-middle-class families.. The movie Shubham is an attempt to tell the unrest that can occur in the villagers and families in a very entertaining way. The way the story of this movie is told.. The way the characters are designed to tell that story once again reveals the directorial talent of Cinemabandi director Praveen Kandregu. The way the characters of the three couples were portrayed in the most natural way.. The way the actors were selected for such roles is what paved the way for the success of this film.
The way the television serial that goes by the name of milk and water bond… the bond of life and death became a strength for the film. The way the problem was established in the first half… the introduction of the characters… the things that showed their attitude and behavior made the story immersive. Praveen, who led the story on the right track in the first half… completely stumbled in the second half. There were many errors in the script. It seems that he dragged the cinema bandi team into the film and did a great job to cover them up. Even if the track went off track sometimes in the second half… the way he corrected it with his talent made the movie completely different. At a time when it was difficult to watch movies with star heroes for two hours… three couples on the screen without any face-to-face contact…
six actors made us squirm in our seats for two hours with their performance. Apart from making us laugh, some scenes also evoked emotion. They acted in a way that reminded us of the family members around us in our family. Harshit Reddy, Gavireddy Srinivas, Charan Peri, Shriya Kontham, Sravani Lakshmi, Shalini Kondepudi, and Vamsidhar Goud impressed with their acting. Samantha, who appeared in guest roles, became a special attraction for this film. In the remaining roles, they all did justice to their characters.
When it comes to the performance of the technical departments.. The songs provided by Clinton Cerezo are contextually good. Director Vivek Sagar’s background score made the film lively. Mridul Sen’s cinematography is good in showing the scenes naturally. Dharmendra Kakarala used his scissors in the right way. The production values followed by the True La La production team are good. Samantha not only impressed with her first film as a producer, but also once again showed her love and passion for cinema.
Subham is a two-hour entertaining film with middle-class family elements. You can enjoy this film happily without any need for logic or expectations. The actors’ performances, the director’s talent, and the vision are the plus points for this film. The story is smooth in the second half. Except for some confusion in the script.. everything else is perfect. Watch this film in the theater.. It will definitely give you a good experience. Don’t miss it.
