The movie ‘Kangua’ came with hero Surya as the hero. There are huge expectations on this movie directed by Siva. But this movie has come before the audience today. And let’s go to the review and find out how much it pleased the audience!

Story:

Francis (Surya) works as a bounty hunter. His ex-girlfriend Disha Patani will also compete with him. However, Francis accidentally meets a Babu in Goa. Who is that Babu?, he remembers that there is some relationship between that Babu and Francis. He remembers that the relationship is from the past life. Some of the dramatic developments in this sequence.. In that story that took place hundreds of years ago, who is Kangua (Sun)?, what did he do for the betterment of his race?, what was the war between the Kangua tribe and the rest of the tribes? Finally, what did Kangua, who was born as Francis, achieve in this life? That is the rest of the story.

Plus Points:

As always, Suriya excels in the roles of Kangua and Francis. Surya’s performance in a dual role is the main highlight of the entire movie. Suriya’s performance as a man who would give his life for his race, for his word, was really good. Just what his fans want from Suriya, this film has gone with huge visuals and ‘wild action and emotional elements’.

Disha Patani as the heroine has done justice to her role. She impressed the youth in glamor looks. Bollywood actor Bobby Deol also lived his role. The depth of Bobby Deol’s character is impressive. Director Siva designed his role as a match for Surya’s role. Natarajan Subramaniam also acted very well. His screen presence is also good. K. S. Ravikumar, Yogi Babu, Kovai Sarala and Mansoor Ali Khan who appeared in other key roles impressed.

Similarly, Karthi, who shined in a guest role, became a special attraction of the film. And the rest of the actors also impressed with their performance in Aya’s roles. The sea action sequences in the climax and pre-climax are very good. Also the emotional scenes between that little Babu and Surya are impressive.

Minus Points:

Despite heavy emotions and huge visuals in this ‘Kangua’, some of the scenes in terms of story are not fully impressive as they are reduced to the level of the movie. Also, the hype of the movie could not be continued throughout the movie. And the love track between Disha Patani and Surya would have been better.

On the whole, director Siva, who has performed well in the action scenes (especially in the climax of Kangua) along with the main theme of the story of ‘Kangua’, has appeared slowly in the remaining few scenes. Although there is a possibility to make those scenes more interesting,

Technical Department:

Talking about the technical department of this movie.. Cinematographer Vetri Palaniswami’s cinematography work is good. Along with the key scenes of the movie, he also shot the rest of the action scenes in accordance with the stories. Editing by Nishad Yusuf is also very good. And the songs composed by music director Devi Sri Prasad are good. Their picturization is also good. The background music is good at some places. Siva has done justice to this film as writer and director. Producer K.E. Gnanavel Raja has made this film without compromising anywhere. His production values are good.

Verdict:

This ‘Kangua’, which came as a period action and emotional drama, was impressive with action sequences and some emotional scenes. Especially Surya’s powerful performance, surprising elements in the climax and good work from the technical department are good. But, things like routine screenplay, some scenes are slow going and the love story is not very impressive are the minuses of the movie. However, Surya has taken this movie to another level with his performance. Overall this movie will entertain only Surya fans.
