With more filmmakers creating larger-than-life characters and films for the Indian audience, a slew of filmmakers and actors are finding their way into mythology-based scripts. A slew of filmmakers and producers are bringing legendary and lore characters to the big screen.

The Indian OTT market is now rapidly expanding. More is on the way, as Disney+ Hotstar has announced what could be the largest project in the Indian OTT space to date. Furthermore, it is associated with Allu Aravind’s Allu Entertainments and Mythoverse studios.

Disney announced astounding project Mahabharat at D23 Expo. Gaurav Banerjee, President and Content head said, “We are going to make Mahabharata which will be a big massive scale production. We are very excited about this one; we are working on this with Madhu Mantena who is our producer.”

“The greatest epic ever written- retold at a scale never seen before! Stay tuned for an ethereal spectacle- #Mahabharat, is coming soon.” Disney+ Hotstar tweeted earlier today.

They even shared a few photos from the Mahabharata series, in which they appear ecstatic. The images appear to be massive concept posters. This appears to be one of, if not the, largest projects in the Indian OTT space.

Furthermore, the Mahabharata factor will instantly bring it closer to a large portion of the Telugu audience. Allu Entertainments was recently launched by the Allu family, and they appear to be working on a large-scale project. The series appears to be co-produced by them. More information about the massive project is expected to be released soon.
