‘Bigg Boss’ Telugu – Season 4 Finalist Sohel Ryan has gained a huge following after he ended up as a 2nd runner up. He made a couple of video songs and also film announcements but it took him this much long finally have a feature film release. Titled ‘Lucky Lakshman’, the film hit the screens to day. Let’s dive into it.

Story:
Lucky Lakshman is about a middle class guy names Lucky. Like every other middle class citizen of the country, even he goes through various struggles to meet the ends, a life filled with chores, responsibilities and resentful hope. In the twist of events, he finds himself in a situation where it pulls-in his family and girlfriend too into the trouble. How he manages to get out of it rest of the plot.

Performances:
Syed Sohel Ryan has lived up to his name and the expectations he had from his television & media image. He actually gives a promising & impressive performance and the film actually is pulled by his good acting. Although the film is designed around his character, he shone in all aspects and showed his character variations greatly.

Heroine Mokksha did a decent job as well and had a good chemistry with Sohel. Anurag & Ameen, who played the role of Lucky’s best friends also did fine jobs. Devi Prasad, who played the father role, scores well on the emotional front towards the end .

Technical Departments:
Director AR Abhi has chosen a smart plot but not the smart approach. Taking a middle class story is a very good idea on the basis of reliability with audience but he failed to present them in a fresh aspect. Most of the scenes were familiar or half baked. He did a good job at choosing his cast.

Music by Anup Rubens is also just okay. Only one song catches our attention and the rest fail to register. But the background score for the emotional scenes are commendable. Editing by Prawin Pudi was also fine. Cinematography by I Andrew adds nothing innovative.

Analysis:
‘Lucky Lakshman’ is a no new plot. It deals with the story of a middle class guy who is in a desperate need to attain a settled and rich lifestyle. This is very relatable to most of the crowd and his conflict with father is also touching. Films like these doesn’t need any glamorous and viral content as the film relies on simple emotions. Although the film has it’s flaws, it did manage to pull off what it intended to.

Plus Points:
Sohel

Climax

Minu Points:
Slow Narration
Routine Direction

Final Verdict:
The film who are watching they are lucky Lakshmans
