‘Bedurulanka 2012’, starring Karthikeya and Neha Shetty, is running successfully in theatres. Produced by Ravindra Banerjee Muppaneni of Loukya Entertainments, the film is directed by debutant Clax. With the dramedy becoming a hit, the makers hosted a victory party on Wednesday. Young hero Sree Vishnu and director Ajay Bhupathi of ‘RX 100’ graced the occasion as chief guests.
Speaking on the occasion, hero Kartikeya thanked Sree Vishnu for gracing the event. He added that Clax’s narration had convinced him to do ‘Bedurulanka 2012’. “Collections have been on the rise, day after day. It is huge if the audience endorse what you believe in. Our film is holding at the box office very well even on weekdays. After the FDFS on August 25th, I was very satisfied and greatly relieved. I thank the audience for gifting me this relief. ‘Bedurulanka 2012’ started about 1.5 years ago. We successfully completed the movie despite facing stiff challenges. We endured because we believed in content. It has been five years since I spoke at a success meet of a film of mine. Whether I do films or not, the audience’s support has always remained strong. After ‘RX 100’, the films that I acted in did not reach the expected range. I thank the audience, my industry colleagues, my family and friends who believed in me and told me I would surely bounce back. ‘Bedurulanka 2012’ came my way at the right time. My film has delivered laughs. This is my gift to the audience who have always stood by me. It gives me a great deal of satisfaction if the audience recognise a good film. Thanks to Clax for giving me this opportunity. I give the credit also to Ajay Bhupathi, whose ‘RX 100’ gave me recognition. Whatever success I have achieved in life is because of him and that film. I will always be indebted to him,” the actor said. Kartikeya also thanked his producer, Neha Shetty, Mani Sharma and the entire cast and crew team. “We got confidence when ‘Samajavaragamana’ became a hit. The audience made our film a hit,” Kartikeya said.
Sree Vishnu said that he has known director Clax since 2009. “I listened to the story of this film many years ago. Clax is a hardworking person. Doing a film based on a rare concept is not easy for any actor. I told Clax that not many producers would be ready to come forward. I asked him to make the film in a commercial format. Thankfully, we have producers like Benny who encourage new stories. I have nothing new to say about Mani Sharma’s talent. Ever since ‘DJ Tillu’, I have remembered Neha Shetty as Radhika. I will now remember her as Chitra. It is not an ordinary thing to act in such a way that you can remember the names of characters. When ‘RX 100’ was out, I was surprised by the song ‘Pilla Raa’. I saw Kartikeya in it and tweeted positively about the song. ‘RX 100’ became a blockbuster. Kartikeya always keeps doing new roles. I sincerely wished that ‘Bedurulanka 2012’ becomes a big hit. I like Kartikeya a lot. Seeing him gives me a sense of brotherly vibes. Those who haven’t seen this movie yet should watch it in the theater and enjoy it,” he said.
BVS Ravi said, “I am happy that Kartikeya has had such noteworthy success. I also acted in a small role in this movie. Benny is a very passionate producer. He is someone who knows the market and picks up interesting stories. Neha Shetty is beautiful and also talented. She speaks Telugu very well. My respect for her has gone up. Sree Vishnu works so hard every time. I saw a similar level of passion in Allu Arjun. Kartikeya and I once met at a star hotel in Hyderabad. At that time, I learned that he is a big fan of Chiranjeevi garu. I took a video of him saying it and sent it to Chiranjeevi garu. Since then we have been good friends. Kartikeya has now become a mass hero. Clax has made a non-regular commercial film.”
Director Ajay Bhupathi congratulated the whole team and said that ‘RX 100’ gave a new life to those who did it. “It was Kartikeya who gave me life. He produced that movie. If Kartikeya gets a hit, it is like me scoring a hit. I am happy that he has won this time around as well. I have always known director Clax. He worked under RGV after my stint came to an end. He went through suffering to realize his dream. He has portrayed all the characters well in ‘Bedurulanka 2012’. Audiences don’t think of going to theaters for big heroes. They go only if the movie is good. We are lucky to have such an audience.”
Neha Shetty said that she has scored her second hit. “We had to release this movie in February itself. But it kept getting delayed. I was very sad and also scared about the delay. Our hero, the director and the producer assured me everything would be alright. Even if it took time, I am happy it has become a hit,” the actress added.
Producer Ravindra Banerjee Muppaneni thanked Sree Vishnu, BVS Ravi and Ajay Bhupathi for gracing the occasion. “Thanks to the audience for making the movie such a big hit,” he said.
