The film industry has seen drastic changes in the past three year. At a time when audiences who are accustomed to watching movies on OTT have decreased their attendance at theatres, films such as Bimbisara and Sitaramam have demonstrated that if a good film is made, the audience will come to the theatres.
RRR, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Radhe Shyam, Bheemla Nayak, and Acharya are released in 2022. Some of these films performed well at the box office. RRR, Sarkaru Vaari Paata, Radhe Shyam, Bheemla Nayak, and Godfather have all entered the hundred crore club.
Apart from these, the films Karthikeya 2 and Dhamaka, both produced by People Media Factory, were released in 2022 and grossed more than 100 crores. Nikhil’s epic blockbuster Karthikeya 2 grossed over 127 crores and was extremely popular across the country. Dhamaka, starring Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja, grossed over 100 crores in its first 12 days of release, setting a record as the first hundred crore film in Ravi Teja’s career. The film is still continuing it’s sensation in theatres and it will be Raviteja’s career biggest blockbuster.
People Media Factory, founded in 2017 by renowned IT entrepreneur TG Vishwa Prasad, intially produced independent films in America. People Media Factory began production in Telugu with Nandamuri Kalyan Ram’s MLA, which was co-produced by Vivek Kuchibotla. Many successful films were co-produced by TG Vishwaprasad and Vivek Kuchibotla. Now, Karthikeya 2 and Dhamaka, which have joined this list, not only received audience love and appreciation, but also a hundred crore collection in the same year, giving People Media Factory a rare honour. More films are currently in production under the banner of People Media Factory, which produces films with content as well as films that entertain fans. There are several projects in the works, including Gopichand – Sriwass, Avasarala Srinivas, and Naga Shaurya’s Phalana Abbayi Phalana Ammayi, as well as one with Lavanya Tripathi. People Media Factory currently producing films starring big stars like Pawan Kalyan and Prabhas.
