Director Supreet Krishna Confident That ‘Tuk Tuk’ Will Entertain Everyone

Hyderabad: The upcoming fantasy-magic film Tuk Tuk promises to bring a fresh and unique concept to audiences. Directed by C. Supreet Krishna, the movie features Harsha Roshan, Karthikeya Dev, Steven Madhu, Sanvi Meghana, and Nihal Kodhati in key roles. Produced under the banners of Chitravahini and RYG Cinemas by Rahul Reddy, Lokku Sri Varun, and Sriramulu Reddy, the film is set for a worldwide release on March 21.

Speaking to the media on Monday, director Supreet Krishna shared insights into the film, its inspiration, and what audiences can expect. He revealed that the story idea came from seeing a vehicle in a cricket advertisement, which sparked the thought, “What if a vehicle had life?” The film blends this concept with a commercial package, creating an engaging story that balances entertainment with emotion.

Clarifying that Tuk Tuk is an entirely original story, he stated that it is unrelated to past films like Bamma Bata Bangaru Bata, Mechanic Mamayya, or Karu Diddina Kaapuram. The film’s title itself has a meaningful backstory, which will be revealed on screen. Set in Chittoor, the story spans from the 1990s to the present, with the director’s own native background playing a significant role in shaping the narrative.

The selection of actors was crucial to the film’s success. The story required three teenage boys, leading to the casting of Harsha, Karthikeya, and Madhu after auditions and workshops. The film revolves around a vehicle, Tuk Tuk, which is not just a means of transport but an entity that knows the past, present, and future. With its own unique personality, the vehicle responds humorously to questions while carrying a strong emotional depth.

Roshan’s recent success with Court is expected to add value to Tuk Tuk, and the team is confident that his performance will resonate with audiences. Apart from the magical Tuk Tuk, the film’s highlights include elements of fantasy, mystery, and a tightly woven screenplay with strong commercial appeal. The mystery surrounding Tuk Tuk—whether it is supernatural or divine—will keep audiences intrigued.

Director Supreet Krishna, who previously worked as a writer under Puri Jagannadh and created the OTT film Alanaati Sitrala, is making his feature film directorial debut with Tuk Tuk. He also hinted at developing a Tuk Tuk franchise with different vehicles and unique backstories in the future.

Looking ahead, the director plans to assess the film’s performance before finalizing his next project, promising to continue exploring fresh and innovative storylines. With its blend of fantasy, emotion, and entertainment, Tuk Tuk aims to captivate audiences when it hits theaters on March 21.
