Austrian Parliamentary team calls on Governor at Raj Bhavan

Hyderabad, March 15: A high level delegation of the Austrian Parliament has called on Governor Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan at Raj Bhavan, here, on Tuesday. The delegation comprised of Austria Parliament’s National Council (Lower House) President Mr. Wofgang Sobotka, Federal Council (Upper House) President Ms. Christine Schwarz-Fuchs, Hon’ble Ambassador of Austria Ms. Katharina Weiser, and other members of the Austrian Parliament. Governor extended them warm welcome and honoured them with the shawls and mementoes. Interacting with the high level Austrian Parliament delegation, the Governor hoped for the further strengthening of the bond, cooperation, and the bilateral relations between the two countries. Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan also called for the academic and cultural exchange programmes in an intensified manner so as to promote the people to people contact between the two nations.

The Governor highlighted the historic and cultural relations between the two nations that have the friendly diplomatic relations for more than seven decades. “I am happy and grateful that the Austria had supported for the India’s permanent seat in the UN Security Council,” she added. While highlighting the sound industrial, investor friendly policies of Telangana State, She invited the Austrian industrial to invest in Telangana in a big way. Dr. Tamilisai Soundararajan hoped for the strengthening of the relations and deepening of the cooperation in areas like economy, trade, business, science and technology, healthcare infrastructure, and environment between the two countries. She had also emphasized on the two countries’ shared values and ideals in promoting the global peace.
