Yash Puri, who made a mark with his performances in ZEE5’s web film Alanti Sitralu, the comedy Cheppalani Undhi and the recently released epic drama Shaakuntalam is gearing up for the release of another film Happy Ending. This light-hearted coming of age tale, directed by Kowshik Bheemidi has god good buzz with the interesting promotional content. Yogesh Kumar, Sanjay Reddy, Anil Pallala are bankrolling the film under Hamstech Films and Silly Monks Studios.
“Actress Apoorva Rao stars in the new film ‘Happy Ending’ alongside the young hero Yash Puri. ‘Happy Ending’ is set for release in theaters on February 2. In a recent interview, Apoorva Rao shared insights about the movie.
– ‘I’m originally from Ongole, but my family moved to Gujarat due to my father’s job with Reliance Oil Industries. I spent my childhood there and then lived in Kuwait for a few years, where I completed my primary education. After returning to India, I graduated and worked for a while, but I wasn’t satisfied with my jobs. Although my interest in movies was strong, I didn’t receive encouragement from my parents or friends. A few years ago, I decided to pursue acting, joining the Dadasaheb Phalke Film School in Hyderabad. Some assistant directors I met there referred me for auditions for ‘Happy Ending.’ They needed a girl who could speak Telugu fluently and perform well, which led to my casting as the heroine. Before this, I had auditioned for many films but didn’t get offers for various reasons. ‘Happy Ending’ is labeled as a youth pull movie, but it’s filled with humor and fun, offering a good laugh every ten minutes. The film revolves around the hero’s problem, which prevents him from doing what he desires. The story humorously unfolds his efforts to face this conflict, with characters like Jhansi and Ajay Ghosh adding to the fun.
– Yash is a respectful and pleasant co-star. It was a joy to work with him. In the movie, his character is cursed, and anyone who thinks about him encounters problems. I play the role of a girl who understands and supports such a boy, similar to Kamalini Mukherjee’s character in ‘Anand.’ I’m a yoga instructor in the film, someone mentally strong and understanding. It’s gratifying to have such a significant role in my first film as a heroine.
– As an actress, I aim to bring my uniqueness to the cinema, much like Srili, known for her dance and performance, or Samantha, who chooses different concepts. I aspire to be recognized as a versatile actress and work with directors like Shekhar Kammula. Sai Pallavi’s career is an inspiration, motivating me to pursue content-oriented films. I have a background in Bharatanatyam and some training in singing.
– Working on ‘Happy Ending’ was a collaborative experience, as most of us were new to the industry. Director Kaushik was open to our suggestions, making it a true team effort. I dubbed for my character, believing that our own voices enhance the characters. However, sometimes voices like Chinmai’s can become an asset.
– Neetha Lulla designed our costumes, as she is a guest lecturer at Yash’s Hams Tech Institute. In the movie, Yash portrays a new-age makeup artist, prompting director Kaishik to aim for a stylish design, hence Neetha Lulla’s involvement.
– ‘Happy Ending’ is a fun film to watch with friends and family in theaters. It offers relief from daily life pressures, similar to films like ‘Miss Shetty Mr. Polishetty’ and ‘Vicky Donor.’ I aspire to work with actors like Adivi Sesh, Rana, and Naveen Polishetty, who ensure quality output in their films and strive to present good movies to the audience.”
