Another Distinctive Villain in Tollywood – Afsar Azad

Afsar Azad Giving Tough Competition to Sonu Sood Only a few actors have the rare ability to completely immerse themselves in any character and live on in the hearts of the audience. In the past, Sonu Sood left a powerful impression on viewers with his unforgettable performance in Arundhati. Now, in the same league, Tollywood is set to welcome a uniquely talented, pure Telugu actor through the film Dakshina Kaali. He is none other than Afsar Azad.
Afsar Azad has earlier appeared in several notable Telugu films such as Srimannarayana and Adhinayakudu with Balakrishna, Chakram with Prabhas, Seema Tapakai with Allari Naresh, and Adhinetha with Jagapathi Babu. Beyond Telugu cinema, he has also made his mark as a hero in two Tamil films—Nallavanam and Ilai Ketavan Illai—and as a villain in Bhojpuri films like Nirahua The Leader and Nirahua Autowala, earning recognition as a pan-India artist. He was also seen recently in the film Raja Saab.
Not limiting himself to acting alone, Afsar Azad has also been actively involved in social service. He founded the Azad Foundation to help the underprivileged and continues to contribute to society in various ways. Much like Sonu Sood, he balances his responsibilities both as an actor and as a socially conscious individual.
In his latest venture Dakshina Kaali, Afsar Azad will be seen in a visually captivating role as a sorcerer, promising a memorable performance. He expressed confidence that, just like Sonu Sood received immense recognition with Arundhati, this film will bring him a strong and lasting identity in Telugu cinema. He also shared his deep admiration for the late Real Star Srihari, stating his desire to portray many more diverse and powerful roles like him in the future.
