Star hero Suriya’s highly anticipated movie Kanguva, a grand period action film directed by Siva, has become massive success. Featuring Disha Patani and Bobby Deol in pivotal roles, Kanguva was produced by KE Gnanavel Raja, Vamsi, and Pramod under the banners of the renowned production houses Studio Green and UV Creations, with a substantial budget. The film was released on the 14th of this month and has garnered an overwhelmingly positive response, especially in the Telugu-speaking regions, where it is performing exceptionally well. In this context, blockbuster producer KE Gnanavel Raja shared his thoughts on the film’s success in a recent interview:
– “The audience has given Kanguva a grand success after three years of hard work. The Telugu audience’s ability to appreciate quality films has been proven once again. In fact, Kanguva has garnered more collections in Telugu than in Tamil. It stands as the highest-grossing film in Suriya’s career. Collections in the Telugu market are continuing to rise, and multiplexes are seeing packed houses. We are also receiving positive reports from Mythri Movie Distributors, who handled the film’s release in the Nizam area, which makes us even happier.”
– “The film is performing strongly in the North belt as well. We are receiving encouraging box office numbers, especially on weekdays, which indicates a positive long-term performance. Kanguva has received some of the best openings among South Indian films released in the North. Our team is thrilled after seeing the audience’s enthusiastic response in theaters.”
– “Audiences today enjoy watching big-scale movies, and with Kanguva, we’ve created an entirely new world. The high production values and top-notch CGI work are impressing viewers. As a producer, I am proud of the quality of the production. We shot the film on live locations as well as meticulously crafted sets, and when watching the film, it’s hard to distinguish between the two. The entire team worked together to create a seamless final product.”
– “Director Siva has been a great support throughout the production. His guidance helped reduce production-related tensions, ensuring everything ran smoothly. He skillfully blended commercial elements with a strong narrative, making sure the authenticity of the story wasn’t compromised. The guest appearance in the climax was kept under wraps as a surprise, and the audience is absolutely thrilled by that element.”
– “Suriya’s performance in two distinct roles has earned him much acclaim. The dedication and hard work he put into the film are visible on screen, and everyone is praising his performance. Bobby Deol’s role has also become a highlight, and the credit for his casting goes entirely to director Siva.”
– “Devi Sri Prasad has composed a fantastic soundtrack for Kanguva, and the background score has been receiving positive feedback. Songs like Yolo, Fire Song, and Nayaka, are especially resonating with the audience. We did receive some feedback about the BGM being slightly loud, and we are taking this feedback seriously. We are making adjustments in theaters to improve the sound, although the issue was a technical oversight, and not the fault of Devi Sri Prasad.”
– “There is no truth to the rumors about Deepika Padukone being cast as the heroine in Kanguva 2. Work on the sequel hasn’t started yet. Director Siva is committed to working with Ajith in his next project, and after that, we will begin preparations for Kanguva 2. For now, our team has been busy promoting the film across various locations, with little rest, and once we take a short break, I will be open to listening to new scripts.”
– “We are also gearing up for the release of Va Vaathiyar, which we are producing with Karthi under Studio Green. The film will likely release in late January or February, and after that, we will announce our new projects.”
