Balu, Arjun, Venkat, Sai, Satti (Mani, Venky, Raja Ashok, Arun and Rahul) are five friends. students in the United States. He is planning to celebrate his son’s birthday. At the birthday party, the child is drunk and attacked. The child subsequently died. The four of them don’t know what to do. Arjun’s (Venky) brother Bharat (Ravikrishna) is a lawyer. However, while planning to dispose of the body, the boy’s parents (Pramodini and Rajiv Kanakala) from India come to the US.
Boy killed by friends? How to dispose of a child’s body? How did the parents react to their son’s death? What is the reaction of the boy’s father to the four friends? What did you do with the child’s body? What strategy did Arjun’s brother Bharat write as a lawyer? What happens to the child in the end forms the story of the film. As for the story and plot of the film The Birthday Boy, the director Whiskey, who established the environment of the birthday party with a song, went directly into the story without any hammer. The drama and emotions that were cultivated after turning Balu’s character into a dead body worked well. After the entry of Ravikrishna and Sameer Malla in the character, the story narration went to another zone and created more curiosity. The way the story revolves around the dead body and the drama with family emotions is good.
A few things worked well in the second half. However, some scenes seemed to slow down the pace of the story. After the entry of Pramodini and Rajiv Kanakala, the film has gone into another zone. From the pre-climax to the climax, the twists and family drama will keep the audience hooked. The last 20 minutes of the film are a testament to the director’s talent.
TV and Bigg Boss fame Ravikrishna and Rajeev Kanakala are the only known actors in the film. All the other characters are new. He has given a good performance without any lag in any scene. Whose role they have become a plus for the film. Ravikrishna has played his role to perfection. He plays a serious and emotional character. Although Rajiv Kanakala appeared in very few scenes, he impressed with his performance. Every character in the film has its own charm.
Cinematography, background score and sound design are the major highlights of the film. Sankeerth Rahul has elevated many scenes very well. Prashanth Srinivas made the scenes more emotional with his music. Production values by producer Bharath and Bommai Borusa banner are good. The story they chose and the way the film was presented on the screen showed their passion for cinema.
Birthday boy is a murder mystery with youthful and family emotions. The character design is a big plus point in the film. The screenplay and the way the story is told is good. As far as the film is concerned, the twists in the second half have taken the film to a range. It’s a very theatrical film. I think that movie lovers can watch this movie in the theater once.
