Baahubali is a movie that has created a new history in Indian box office collections. Starring Prabhas, Rana Daggubati, Anushka, Tamannaah, and Ramyakrishna, the two films in the Baahubali series have impressed audiences worldwide. Now, a new chapter in this story is set to begin with the name ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’. The animated series ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’, produced by director S.S. Rajamouli, Sharad Devarajan, and Shobhu Yarlagadda under the banners of Graphic India and Arka Media, and directed by Jeevan J. Kang and Naveen John, will be streaming on Disney plus Hotstar from May 17th. Two episodes from this animation series were screened for media friends today.
Gaurav Banerjee, Head of Content at Disney Plus Hot Star, said, “It is a pleasure to work with director Rajamouli, producer Shobhu, and Graphic India on the Baahubali animation series. There is a perception that animation series are meant for children, but we want to bring ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ to adults as well. Watch ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ on Disney Plus Hotstar from the 17th of this month.”
Director SS Rajamouli stated, “The world of Baahubali is very big. While writing the script, we also developed the backstory, character arcs, and aftermath for each character. All that content had to be shared with the audience. In Western cinema, a movie becomes a brand. We wanted to brand Baahubali with animation series, cartoon books, and gaming. However, we waited all these years as we could not find the right partners. We’re happy to do the ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ series with Disney and Graphic India. The world knows the soul of Baahubali. We hope to take it further with this animation series.”
Sharad Devarajan from Graphic India said, “Indian cinema was one way before Baahubali and another way after. Thanks to Rajamouli and Shobhu for making this an animated series. They were very supportive. We have created the animated series ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ without reducing the drama, action, and intensity of a feature film. People who watch this series will forget that it is an animation and get immersed in the characters.”
Actor Sharad Kelkar added, “‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ will take the spirit of Baahubali further. Dubbing Baahubali in Hindi was the proudest moment of my career. This animation series also features the voices of all those who dubbed in Hindi. I am happy to be a part of this great project and hope this series will be loved as much as Baahubali was.”
Producer Shobhu Yarlagadda said, “We are happy to join hands with Graphic India, pioneers in the field of animation. When we planned the Baahubali project, we wanted to bring the breadth of the story closer to the audience. The Baahubali movie is only a chapter in this journey. Cartoons, gaming, and animation… like this, the journey of Baahubali will continue. The popularity of Baahubali has given us courage. In that journey, the animated series ‘Baahubali: Crown of Blood’ is coming to you. The series will entertain you just like the Baahubali movie.”
